Chokehold
While having your weapon unequipped, sneak up behind a guard and press Square to grab him, now there's three things you can do: snap his neck, knock him out, or leave him. To snap his neck, rapidly press Square until his neck has snapped. To knock him out, just press Square about 8 times to cause him to lose consciousness.

Corner View
This is useful when you want to know what lays ahead when approaching a corner. Flatten yourself against a wall near the corner and you'll get a corner view. By doing this you can view what's around the corner while not exposing yourself.

Quick Slowdown
Since there is actually no way to walk in this game, this is useful when going over nosiy surfaces so that nearby guards aren't alerted. While running, press Square to make Snake reach out as if he were to grab someone. When he does this he will slow down and not make any noise while running.

During a point in the game, you will have to repel down a wall. When rappeling, press X to jump away from the wall then press one of four directions on the D-pad to move down the wall. If you want to keep yourself against the wall, press Circle and then one of four directions on the D-pad to move.

This is a helpful when out of ammo and around many guards. Simply run towards a guard with no weapon equipped and press Square and Snake will grab the guard around the waist and toss him over his shoulder. When playing on easier difficulties, this will knock out the guard.

Torture Event
At a point in the game, Snake will be tortured. An electrical current will be sent through his body, severely bringing down his health. To regain your health you must press Circle rapidly to gain it back as it's depleted. You can skip this sequence by simply pressing Select, though there will be consequences, so I suggest not doing that.
