Dead Cell

Dead Cell are a terrorist group that only feature in one Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. They are supposed to be similar to the rogue FOXHOUND unit that Solid Snake fought in Metal Gear Solid. This was because all of the game was part of a plot formed by The Patriots to make Raiden the perfect soldier.
Dead Cell was originally a group that would launch surprise attacks on friendly units, in an attempt to toughen them up and get them ready for real combat. However, six months before the events of Metal Gear Solid 2, the unit turned rogue and only three members survived. These were Fortune, Vamp and Fatman.
