IPod
From Metal Gear - Wiki on Neoseeker
In Metal Gear Solid 4 you have an iPod in your equipment available for use from the beginning of the game. As you progress throughout the story, you will find songs scattered throughout the level that you can add to your iPod - see list below. Certain songs have an added effect on enemies or on Snake when you play them.
Navigating the iPod from the menu screen is very similar to using one in real life. One you have selected the iPod from the in-game equipment menu, you can navigate through the various options by rotating R3, and clicking it to select- much like you would with the wheel of a real iPod.
