[edit] Background

The legendary ex-FOXHOUND commando, and also one of the results of the Les Enfantes Terribles project, Snake has twice defeated the menace of Metal Gear. His former comrade Colonel Roy Campbell calls him back to duty to stop terrorists from using a Metal Gear they acquired during it's testing on Shadow Moses Island in Alaska. The leader of the terrorists is Liquid Snake, the twin brother of Solid and current commander of the Special Forces Unit FOXHOUND.

Snake Bio

[edit] Games

List of games that Solid Snake appears in:

[edit] Metal Gear

Solid Snake first appeared on the MSX2 computer console in Japan, 1987, which was later ported to the NES for the Western market. Snake infiltrates the enemy fortress Outer Heaven in South Africa to destroy Metal Gear, and discovers that his own commanding officer, Big Boss, is responsible.

[edit] Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

Snake is sent to Zanzibar Land, Central Asia, during the midst of a world oil crisis, in order to rescue the kidnapped inventor of an oil-producing microbe. Along the way, he encounters a new type of Metal Gear and, once again, does battle with Big Boss.

[edit] Metal Gear Solid

Snake's first appearance on the Playstation. In Metal Gear Solid, Snake is sent to Shadow Moses Island to investigate a military installation and uncover a deeper meaning behind what the base is hiding. What he finds is more than he'd bargained for. Meeting tons of new characters, plot twists abound and some of the best gameplay ever to grace the Playstation. Metal Gear Solid is a true legend of a game and still stands out of the crowd to this day, only being overshadowed by it's sequels.

[edit] Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty took a different spin on things and was given a varied reception by fans.

Aside from the different nature of the characters, the game brought back the same strategic gameplay that fans loved from the original Playstation version. The inherent lack of Snake after the first half hour on the Tanker is something which riled up some fans. The setting takes place in New York where a Tanker has been sunk after the discovery of it housing Metal Gear RAY. The Big Shell was built to clean up the mess from The tanker. With the absence of Snake from the main role, players are left with Raiden, the new guy. Snake plays a secondary role throughout the game helping Raiden along the way.

[edit] Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Taking place five years after MGS2, Snake is on a mission to kill his brother Liquid, but due to him being a clone he has aged significantly.
