Camouflage (mgs3se)

Camouflaging became a new concept that is implicated in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It is apart of one of the mechanics involved in the entire stealth concept revolving around the Metal Gear series. In Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater we are introduced to Naked Snake, otherwise known as Big Boss later on in the overall storyline. In order to avoid direct detection from the enemy in the game, the player can see Snake's camou index at the top right of their screen which gives a percentage. That percentage indicates how well the player is blending into their surroundings. The higher the index, the less likely the player will be spotted out by an enemy. Keep in mind it is possible to achieve 100% on the index with the help of certain equipment and camouflage suits. Which brings the introduction of the new Camouflage tab in the start menu. Here a player can choose what camouflage to wear and face paint to adjust to their surroundings for the most effective camouflage index. Players be warned, if your index is poor, as in a low camouflage %, then it will be easier for an enemy to spot you and sound the alert phase.
